Chicago PD Body Cam of Fatal Shooting of Burglary Suspect

On September 6, 2025, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) officer-involved shooting began when CPD officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress, where the individuals involved in the burglary were reported to be in a vehicle. CPD officers encountered the vehicle, and the vehicle struck marked Chicago Police vehicles. An officer then discharged their weapon, striking one of the individuals. The individual who was shot was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. A second individual was placed in custody and transported to the hospital in good condition A third individual fled the scene and is not in custody. Two CPD officers were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A gun was recovered on scene.
