In this exposé, we analyze alleged false teachings from Art Lucier’s sermon “When They Get It Wrong.” He uses examples from Moses, Nathan, and Hezekiah to claim that even true Old Testament prophets often “missed it,” attempting to normalize false prophecy and excuse inaccuracy in modern prophetic movements.

This was also the same sermon where Art Lucier confirmed that Harvest Church Kelowna has been kicked out of its building. In this video, we’ll be examining over a dozen false “building prophecies” that he and others gave about this very facility—prophecies now proven false by the eviction itself. It’s alleged that this sermon served as an attempt to rewrite the narrative, using the stories of Moses, Nathan, and Hezekiah to justify failure and portray prophetic mistakes as normal.

1. Moses – Misused to Justify Prophetic Error

Lucier claims that Moses “got it wrong” when he told Israel to stand still before God told them to move forward (Exodus 14). He presents this as proof that even great prophets can be inaccurate.
➡️ Why this is false: Moses did not “miss it.” God gave new instructions after Moses’ statement of faith. There’s no contradiction—only obedience to progressive revelation. Calling that an error undermines biblical authority.

2. Nathan – Twisting a Correction into a Pattern of Failure

Lucier cites Nathan’s initial approval for David to build the temple (2 Samuel 7) and then his later correction, arguing that even true prophets can mishear God.
➡️ Why this is false: Nathan’s change came from a new word from God the same night. Scripture never portrays Nathan as wrong or deceptive—it shows that genuine prophets immediately submit when God clarifies His will.

3. Hezekiah – Isaiah “Got It Wrong” Narrative

Lucier teaches that Isaiah falsely prophesied Hezekiah’s death (2 Kings 20), claiming this proves prophets can err and still speak for God.
➡️ Why this is false: The passage never says Isaiah was mistaken. God responded to Hezekiah’s prayer with mercy, extending his life. That’s divine compassion, not prophetic failure.

Lucier’s sermon title “When They Get It Wrong” becomes self-defeating. The prophets he referenced—Moses, Nathan, and Isaiah—didn’t “get it wrong.” Instead, he distorts Scripture to justify modern prophetic inaccuracies and to downplay the collapse of his own “building prophecies.” This teaching allegedly lowers the biblical standard for prophecy and opens the door for manipulation and false doctrine.
