Jim Shooter Tribute | 1951-2025 | Thoughts and Memories of Marvel Comics Editor | #marvelcomics

Sadly, one of our favorites to interact with and go to at conventions has passed away. Jim Shooter, famous and very influential head comic book editor for Marvel Comics from 1978-1989 passed away on June 30, 2025.

He was someone that Vespor and Ramsis both enjoyed talking to, hearing and seeing at the various conventions they went to throughout the year. Having been a very stable appearance from 2018-2025 at cons they have gone to.

Of course he is not without his own controversies and problems that followed him long after he left Marvel Comics to form his own company Valiant and beyond.. but we here have a more positive and enjoyable perspective of what he brought to our lives and the lives of those into comics during his years of influence over them.

Whether it was Secret Wars or Nintendo Comics, there was always something he had his hand on in someway that we can look back on and say, that was Jim Shooter who was behind that. And while it's much later than we would have liked to have given our thoughts and tribute, it is well earned.
