Episode 1332: What is the New Birth or being Born Again? Part 6

Hello everyone. In tonight's Bible study we take a deep dive into the new birth better known to most as being "born again".

What is the new birth and why is it necessary? Do you know?

Let me tell you what it is not.

1. The new birth is not a prayer.
2. The new birth is not a confession.
3. The new birth is not repentance.
4. The new birth is not a change in behavior.
5. The new birth is not turning over a new leaf, whatever that means.
6. The new birth is not attending any type of "church" assembly.
7. The new birth is not joining some religious organization.
8. The new birth is not doing good deeds like feeding the hungry.

No my friend. None of those things has anything whatsoever to do with the new birth or being born again from above.

What then is the new birth? The new birth is God determining to show you His salvation from the penalty of you being conceived in sin and being born a sinner. That penalty is three fold:
1. Death which means alienated from God who is life
2. Alienation which means a complete separation from the glory of God's presence.
3. Justice which means God is 100% just and right to cast you into hell because you are defiled with sin and offended His holiness.

The new birth is God killing your old human spirit in this current world and creating you a new spirit then placing it in a new world hidden inside of Christ Jesus until that new world is ready to be revealed in the fullness of time.

Simplified, the new birth is a new creation from God, by God, for God, to God. It has absolutely positively nothing to do with you doing anything for any reason because you can do nothing regardless of the reason.
