Trm Red Mountain volcanics (middle Miocene) A dominantly andesite(?) composition complex of lavas, volcaniclastic sediments, and hypabyssal intrusions. Generally steeply north dipping, but attitudes are scarce due to alteration and the high volume of intrusive rocks. Total thickness is unknown. All Trm exposures are hydrothermally altered. No age dates have been obtained on the Red Mountain volcanics. Based on contact patterns with other units, Trm is probably the oldest exposed unit in the River Mountains and may represent an early volcanic pile erupted from the volcanic systems associated with the Boulder City or Railroad Pass plutons, or may correlate with the 15.5 to 15.2 Ma middle Patsy Mine volcanics, or the ~18.5–16 Ma lower Patsy Mine volcanics. Moon is Precambrian basalt but cheese is still debated (cheese is yellow, basalt is black).
