I just watched the panel segment with Andrew Wilson, Destiny and Grace Thorp—titled “You’re Not Smart Enough To Make an Argument!”—and I found myself strongly reacting to how the discussion played out. Andrew Wilson held the floor, highlighted conceptual gaps, and laughed as usual. Meanwhile Grace Thorp seemed to spiral into rhetorical attacks, lost focus, and ended up undermining her own credibility. In this reaction I’ll break down why I’m supportive of Wilson’s style and critical of Thorp’s performance.

Andrew Wilson focused on clarifying what the claim is, what evidence supports it, what the objections are—classic debate structure.
Grace Thorp, in contrast, appeared to rely on emotional framing rather than engaging the argument’s substance. That shift weakens credibility.
In debate panels your time is limited and your audience broad. Wilson used that time to press for clarity, ask for definitions, and hold participants accountable. Grace Thorp seemed scattered: her criticisms of both Wilson and Destiny lacked a clear anchor, which left her vulnerable to counterattack.
