Welcome back to Come to the Table, where faith and fellowship meet. Today we are continuing our series on Wolve's in Sheep's Clothing; Discernment in the Last Days. In this episode, we're going to look at the continuity of deception, the way false prophets operated in the Old Testament, and how that same spirit shows up again in the New Testament. Different names, different generations, but the same strategies. In the Old Testament, the false prophet spoke in God's name without His heart. In the New Testament, the false teacher preached Christ without His Lordship. In the Old Testament, deception came through lying visions and flattering words. In the New Testament, it came through counterfit power, corrupted doctrine, and spiritual mixture. The players change, but the voice is the same. The enemy doesn't need a new strategy when the old one still works. When we recognize the pattern of the enemy we won't fall for his schemes.
