RSF SPOKESMAN LIKENS THE MILITIA TO ISRAEL… TWICE!

When the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces attempted to takeover Sudan on 15 April 2023 - thereby triggering the war - the militia’s media spokesman was Yousif Izzat, the political advisor to RSF commander Hemedti.

In the first week of fighting, Izzat twice appeared on media outlets belonging to the Zionist Occupation Entity in an attempt to sell the war to the Israeli public. On both occasions, he likened the RSF to Israel by applying the Zionist rhetoric of framing a genocidal campaign as a battle against Islamist extremism.

Just over a year after his statements, Izzat was fired by the RSF due to an unrelated dispute with Hemedti’s brothers. Nonetheless, a figure regularly spotted with officials in charge of the RSF’s political file is Nasredeen Abdelbari: a former Justice Minister who signed the Abraham Accords to normalise relations with Israel. He continues to make overtures to Israeli politicians, media, and public since losing his position.
