MEET Isaiah, Zashia and Yarelis. Zashia is Isaiah’s mom and Yarelis is his girlfriend. The couple have been together for a year and a half and neither felt nervous about her meeting his mom. Isaiah said: “They clicked immediately. And they've been close ever since.” The mother and son describe their relationship as being like best friends and Zashia describes Yarelis as being like a daughter. Zashia has been creating content for years and it was only recently that the trio decided to film and post videos altogether. For the most part, the response to their content together and separately has been very positive but one video in particular garnered a lot of attention. Yarelis said: “The first time we [she and Zashia] wore matching outfits, it was just really crazy. It went viral. So many negative comments. We thought it was cute?!” Some comments accused Isaiah of having ‘mommy issues’ and that his mom was ‘his type’. Isaiah said: “If someone tells me I have mommy issues, I just think they dislike their mom.” Zashia added: “I don't understand why it has to go there because when a woman has a good father figure in her life and tries to find a man that is like her father because he was such a good father, a good man, that’s not weird - that's fine. But when a mother is a good mother, a good woman, a good provider… Shows love, shows care, shows compassion - then it's weird.” They have decided to use the attention to their advantage to create more fun, popular content together, ignore the haters and the ridiculous comments while continuing to be a strong, happy family.
