How Jesus Lived - Trusting God in the Storms

We’ve crossed the sea with Jesus — from His call to “cross over,” through the fear that rose with the waves, to the peace that came when His voice broke through the chaos.

📖 Mark 4:35–41 (CSB)

“He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Silence! Be still!’ The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Then he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?’ And they were terrified and asked one another, ‘Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!’”

The storm on the Sea of Galilee reminds us of this truth:
Jesus never said the trip would be calm — He just said we’d make it to the other side.

He was with them in every moment:
🌊 When they left the shore — obedience.
🌊 When the storm rose — fear.
🌊 When He stood and spoke — power.
🌊 When calm returned — revelation.

📖 Isaiah 43:2 (CSB)

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and the rivers will not overwhelm you.”

Your storm may look different — pain, loss, doubt, or waiting — but the same Jesus who calmed the sea still speaks peace over you.

📖 Hebrews 6:19 (CSB)

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

Faith doesn’t mean the storm won’t come — it means you know who’s in your boat when it does.

💭 Reflection:

What storm in your life is testing your faith right now?

How can you shift from asking “Why?” to trusting “Who”?

Do you believe the same Jesus who commanded the sea still reigns today?

He hasn’t left you.
He hasn’t changed.
He’s still saying, “Be still.” 💛
