When government stops landlords from raising rent — even as costs rise — they stop investing in buildings. Repairs stall, housing decays, and new apartments stop getting built.

Supply shrinks. Demand spikes.
And when demand is greater than supply — rents go up, not down.

Cities from San Francisco to Stockholm proved it: rent freezes hurt working families most, leaving fewer homes and worse conditions.

If we want affordable housing, we need to build more — not freeze what’s left.
