Carney Went to Asia — Came Back Empty-Handed

Mark Carney spent nearly two weeks touring Asia, promising to “transform” Canada’s economy and double our non-U.S. exports.

But he came back with nothing to show for it.

Canada already has a Pacific trade deal — the CPTPP — yet we barely use it.
Asia wants energy and fertilizer, not press conferences. Until Ottawa is ready to export what the world actually needs, these trips are just political theatre.
