Thankful Worship

During the month of November, we naturally think about thankfulness. But for believers, gratitude shouldn’t just be seasonal, it should be continual!
Psalm 100 is known as a Psalm of Thanksgiving, and it calls us to shout joyfully to the Lord, serve Him with gladness, and come before Him with thanksgiving. But how can we do that when life doesn’t always feel thankful? What does it really mean to worship with thankfulness?

Today, Pastor John Grams helps us take a look at how gratitude isn’t just an emotion: it’s an act of faith. True thanksgiving flows from knowing who God is: our Creator, our Shepherd, and our Savior. Even in difficult seasons, we can thank God not just for what He’s done, but for who He is.

We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county.
Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures.
Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone!
There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely.
