Day Out with Thomas Event at Strasburg Railroad - June 2025

We took a trip to the Day Out With Thomas event at Strasburg Rail Road in Lancaster, PA. We followed Thomas around the station and caught some great views of him passing the Red Caboose Motel.
This event brings Thomas & Friends to life with real steam train rides, activities for kids, and of course, Thomas himself. At Strasburg, Thomas is a real working steam engine that's been modified to look like the #1 blue engine from Sodor.

A Bit of History:
The Strasburg Rail Road, running since 1832, is the oldest continuously operating railroad in the Western Hemisphere. Their Thomas is built on an actual 0-6-0 steam locomotive and is one of only a few full-size, functional Thomas replicas in the U.S.

While Thomas usually has moving eyes, they’ve been out of commission for quite a while now, maybe over a year, so he’s currently rocking a fixed stare. Still just as fun to see him in action.
