The Fiqh of Forgiveness: When Others Do You Wrong | Shaykh Ahmad Jibril (حفظه الله تعالى)

Forgiveness in Islam is not a call to weakness — it is a call to strength, wisdom, and dignity. True forgiveness is only praiseworthy when it leads to islāh — reconciliation and reform.

Our religion does not command a believer to turn his left cheek to the one who struck his right. Islam is not a faith of humiliation, but a path of ‘izzah (honor) and justice. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forgave when it brought hearts back to Allah, and stood firm when truth was trampled upon.

This lecture by Shaykh Ahmad Jibril (حفظه الله تعالى) explores the Fqh of forgiveness — when to forgive, when to stand firm, and how to balance mercy with justice. It reminds the Ummah that the believer’s heart is soft, but his dignity is never surrendered.

“Forgive, but never forget your honor before Allah.”
