The Book of Colossians Chapter 1

Christ, the Image of the Invisible God

In Colossians 1, in the first chapter, Paul begins with greetings and thanksgiving for the faith, love, and hope of the Colossians. He prays that they may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will and live worthy of the Lord. Paul also proclaims the supremacy of Christ, as the image of the invisible God and the firstborn over all creation. He emphasizes that through Christ, God reconciled all things to Himself, making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.
