Candace Owens Challenges Senator Ron Johnson on Biblical Support for Israel
Candace Owens interviewing Senator Ron Johnson
Senator Ron Johnson:
Growing up in Sunday school, I was taught from the Bible that “those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed.”
From my perspective, I want to be a blessing. But — who exactly are we talking about when we say “those who bless the government of Israel”? Who is the “government of Israel”?
Candace Owens:
So that’s in the Bible? As a Christian, I believe that — but where exactly is that?
Senator Ron Johnson:
I can find it. I don’t have the scripture off the top of my head, but I can pull out my phone and look it up.
Candace Owens:
So you’re quoting a Bible verse, but you don’t have context? You don’t know where in the Bible it is, but that’s your theology? I’m confused — what does that even mean? I’m a Christian. I want to know what you’re talking about.
Senator Ron Johnson:
Where does my support for Israel come from? Number one — because biblically, we are commanded to support Israel.
Candace Owens:
But now you’re throwing out theology, and I am a Christian, so I’m allowed to weigh in on this. You’re saying we are commanded as Christians to support the government of Israel?
Senator Ron Johnson:
We are commanded to support Israel — and we’re told that those who bless it will be blessed.
Candace Owens:
But this is important. Are you kidding? Israel — do you even know what Israel is? That would be the country of… what, 49 questions? So that’s what Genesis is talking about — Israel?
Senator Ron Johnson:
Yes, that’s what God is talking about in Genesis.
Candace Owens:
And He’s talking about the current leadership? The political entity called Israel?
Senator Ron Johnson:
Yes. He’s talking about the nation — the nation that exists.
Candace Owens:
He’s talking about a people — the people of Israel. Abraham’s descendants. In Genesis, that’s the nation He’s referring to. Is that the same as the modern country run by Benjamin Netanyahu?
Senator Ron Johnson:
Yes, it is.
Candace Owens:
I’m really glad you said that, because when you hear it out loud, you realize how ridiculous it sounds. Even if you’re not following the theology, even if you don’t identify as a Christian, you realize you have a U.S. senator sitting across saying that his number one reason — not one of the reasons, but the number one reason — he supports Israel is because “the Bible commands it.”
And just so you know, the Bible does not command Christians to support the modern state of Israel. Genesis is not pointing to the modern, 1948-created state of Israel.
You are not biblically commanded to support it — especially given that it has been involved in what can only be described as demonic behavior since its creation. And yet, people like this ignore every other biblical passage while misinterpreting this one.
This is what’s known as dispensational heresy — a belief system that was actually funded by the World Zionist Congress.
We can do another episode on that, but I’ll present all the evidence: this modern interpretation comes from the Schofield Bible — the first version that included notations under the text telling people how to interpret scripture.
Schofield wrote commentary saying “this is what Genesis means,” and those notes guided generations of American Christians. Oxford Press later backed its publication, making it one of the most printed Bibles in history — and through it, this heresy spread through America.
So now, people like this are examples of that belief system. He says his number one reason to support Israel is because the Bible commands it — which means he’s willing to support the criminality of the government of Israel simply because that government occupies the land of Israel.
By that logic, if the people of Israel left and others moved in, he’d still claim the Bible commands him to bless them — because it’s about a place, not a people.
That’s absolute nonsense. It’s a theological disaster.
And it’s so important that people learn the true history — the origins of the Schofield Bible, and how this modern dispensationalism belief system has been toxic to both theology and foreign policy.
This ideology, branded as “Judeo-Christian values,” has twisted Christian teaching. I’m a Christian — not Jewish — and my values are Christian.
Frankly, no Christian should believe that a country engaged in blackmail, murder, bombings, and the starvation of women and children is acting under divine authority.
Israel’s leadership has deceived on a global level — politically, historically, and spiritually. They lie constantly — pushing false accusations, such as that critics are “funded by foreign entities.” There’s no proof. None. But they repeat it daily because they have no argument — they rely on deception.
People like this, especially those funded by powerful lobby groups, will keep misinterpreting Genesis and defend everything the government does — even though most citizens themselves don’t support those leaders and are protesting against them in wartime.
And that should terrify you.
It’s deeply ironic that we’re told Iran can’t have nukes because they’re “religious fanatics,” while Israel — a country exempt from international law — does have nukes, stolen from America, and is never held accountable.
We’re supposed to ignore things like global blackmail operations, or the involvement of certain individuals in historic scandals — because we’re told “God will bless you if you bless Israel.”
It’s absurd, it’s dangerous, and it’s unbiblical.
