What is Law?

Man does not create Law. Therefore, he cannot legislate it. The one and only Law is not written; it is written about. The Law is discovered, observed and Revealed. The application of Law to a society is called Jus Commune, or the Common Law.
Up until approximately two-hundred years ago, this was common knowledge amongst all serious students of the Law. There are multitudes of treatises written by well-learned Jurists that reflect, if not outright admit, this understanding of the Law.

Hence, the “laws” made by man must always assume another name, such as statute, code, rule, regulation, etc.…, though erroneously referred to as entire bodies of “law”, they always have a prefatory denomination such as “statutory law”, “administrative law”, or “contract law”, among others.

This type of law is considered Jus Particulare, or private law not universally binding on those who have not consented to be under it.

There are, however, circumstances under which they do not need your consent. If you are found to be incapable of exercising free will, either through infancy, dependency, or incompetence, then it is considered not only their right, but their charitable duty to God and man to take you under administration and guardianship. This is the foundation of Roman Civil Law and the Doctrine of Parens Patriae, or Government as Parent.
