Virtuous Manhood or Toxic Masculinity: A Historical Study of Human Character (1 Kings 2)

Today’s Scripture reading features two lengthy passages, 1 Kings 2 and Psalm 37. This is the first Bible study, focusing on 1 Kings 2.
1 Kings 2 recounts David’s final advice to his son Solomon and includes the challenge to the young king: “Be strong…shew thyself a man!” David recognized that Solomon had to defeat his enemies who threatened his rule as Israel’s king.
