Pereira city in Colombia

Pereira is a city located in a mountainous and coffee-growing region of western Colombia, famous for the soft grains of Arabica coffee. The main square (Plaza de Bolívar) has a statue of Simón Bolívar, hero of independence, naked on a horse. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Poverty of the 19th century has an elaborate half-timbered ceiling. The viaduct of Cesar Gaviria Trujillo is a cable-stayed bridge that is on the Otún River. The Art Museum of Pereira hosts temporary exhibitions.
