In this interview with Dr. Paul Anderson, he breaks down the three main barriers patients face when accessing integrative healthcare.

First Main Challenge: Finances

As a patient, I’ve found it challenging to find and afford adequate care for my medical conditions, especially when looking outside of the conventional care model. As discussed in this interview clip, most integrative therapies are not covered by insurance leaving the out of pocket expense for the patient at a time when they may already be struggling financially. This system creates for many, enormously daunting financial challenges while ill and therefore they may be unable to work coupled with trying to afford medical care. I was one of those people and I can’t tell you how hard it was.

Access to quality and adequate is a basic human right that's not represented in our constitution. Everyone, regarless of socioeconomic status, deserves the right to heal.
