"Dawnlight" tells the story of Operation Overlord. It traces one of the largest military operations ever conceived by man, from the summer of 1941, when Churchill and Roosevelt first raised the issue, to June 6, 1944. It deciphers "Hitler's strategy to fail." The film explores this crucial turning point in World War II, discussing geopolitics (the uneasy alliance between London, Moscow, and Washington), various military strategies and technological prowess, and the fate of the young soldiers who attacked the Atlantic wall. They will pay a heavy price.

The landings will be told here in the style of a play, with their intrigues, dramas, the art of bluff, and the fate of the world at stake.

This 90-minute film, entirely based on archival footage, remastered and colorized, was written and directed by Jean-Christophe Rose for France Télévisions as part of the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in June 2014. This film was produced by Kuiv Productions. Video source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UJYYkK4d8s
