The Supreme Court recently announced the granting of cert for the case US v. Hemani. This case deals specifically with 18 US Code, Section 922(g)(3), the prohibition on firearm ownership for users of controlled substances.

While cannabis consumption remains illegal federally, it is currently legal in 24 states for recreational use, and in 40 states for medical use. GOA has long fought against this prohibition on behalf of gun owners who legally use marijuana.

On the surface, SCOTUS granting a case that tackles 922(g)(3) directly may seem like a good thing for gun owners, the Department of Justice has put their finger on the scales of justice once again- this time by choosing a terror suspect as the plaintiff.

Today on Law & Ammo, Phil discusses the Supreme Court's latest case, US v. Hemani and the potential consequences for gun owners.
