A Man Full of Himself: Seven Mysteries Part 6 — Mystery of Babylon

Nebuchadnezzar set up a 90-foot golden image and gathered every official to bow to it in the plain of Dura (Dan 3:1). It’s the portrait of a man full of himself—exalting an idol in direct defiance of God. Later, another Babylonian king faced the handwriting on the wall: “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.” God had numbered the kingdom, weighed it, and divided it—Belshazzar fell that very night as the Medes and Persians entered the city (Dan 5:25–31).

This message walks through those scenes and warns how quickly pride can collapse. God sets limits; judgment is real—yet He still calls people to repent before it’s too late. If you’ve been crushed or mocked by the proud, take heart: God sees, weighs, and acts in His time.

Key passages: Daniel 3:1; Daniel 5:25–31.
