Comey Update: Defense Files in Opposition to DOJ Filter Team for Review of Arctic Haze Evidence

Update on United States v. Comey: a new filing from the defense opposes the implementation of a filter team for Arctic Haze evidence seized years ago from Daniel Richman, who was counsel to Comey at the time and is now Person 3 from the indictment.

Defense wants to first challenge the underlying search warrants used to get that evidence, which appears to be communications between Comey and Richman. To do that, they need prosecutors to turn over the four search warrants used.

Defense’s filing gives us new insights into the Arctic Haze investigation and, in my opinion, foreshadows what this case is really about—sealed material and getting it unsealed.
