San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus identified the deputy k*lled as Andrew Nuñez.

Nuñez leaves behind a wife, a 2-year-old daughter, a mother, and four siblings

His wife was also expecting

He had served with the sheriff’s department for six years and worked in Rancho Cucamonga for five years

Deputies were fired upon as soon as they arrived at the scene. Nuñez was shot once in the head

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital in stable condition
