Are you listening? There is no shortage of self-styled prophets willing to feed you exactly what you want to hear. Many Christians seem to have forgotten what we are supposed to be doing here. Practically every podcaster, or personality with a platform, is eager to tell you how you need to think and what you need to be doing right now. In your own family, you are probably seeing a lot of anxiety, anger, factions forming, tribes separating themselves from those “other” people who are “ignorant, stupid”, “deceived”, or “dangerous.” It can be very difficult to tell the difference between things that will nourish us and things that will destroy us. The problem is not that the truth is being hidden. It's there. We have it already. The problem is we have drifted so far from our spiritual and intellectual grounding that we lack the wisdom to see the difference. We have lost track of our purpose. We were never commanded by Christ to sit tight and wait it out.
