Arto Halosen ohjaama ja yhdessä Jouni K. Kemppaisen kanssa käsikirjoittama komediallinen draama Isänmaallinen mies (2013) sijoittuu 1980-luvun kilpahiihtoladuille. Latoja Toivo Kaarakainen (Martti Suosalo) jää työttömäksi, mutta pian vahvaverisestä miehestä tulee Suomen hiihtomaajoukkueen päävalmentajan Ilmon (Janne Reinikainen) ja huoltoryhmän kipeästi kaipaama salainen ase ja olympialaisiin valmistautuvan hiihtotähden Ainon (Pamela Tola) läheinen työtoveri.
