Griffin Device – Interim Iridium
Recorded in 2008 • Restored and Remastered in 2025

This is a demo recording from 2008, captured in our rehearsal room and restored from a two-track mix. The original multitracks are lost. It’s been remastered as best as possible — but don’t expect studio polish. This is raw, real, and final.

Griffin Device was a short-lived but unforgettable band from Malta, active between 2006 and 2013.
Rex Grech Santucci – Bass/Lead Vocals
Daniel Martin Wolfe – Guitar/Backing Vocals
Dino Mifsud Lepre – Drums

Out of countless jams, they forged four songs that carried the raw weight of Bluesy Stoner Doom, with *Mercury* being the very first track they ever completed.

While Griffin Device remained underground, the band’s members weren’t unknown in the Maltese metal scene.
Rex Grech Santucci and Dino Mifsud Lepre were already established musicians, known for their work in other Maltese bands.
Daniel Martin Wolfe was also active across multiple projects and later became more established through Victims Of Creation, a cult Doom/Death Metal band all three members shared.

Griffin Device left their mark playing at: *Malta Doom Metal* Festival 2011 & 2012 and the *Doom Shall Rise* Festival VIII (2013, Göppingen, Germany) – Griffin Device performed on April 27th at “The Chapel,” a former U.S. Army church. Sadly, this was both the last edition of *Doom Shall Rise* and the final Griffin Device performance.

Though their time as a band was short, songs like *Interim Iridium* and *Mercury* capture the heavy, hypnotic, and soulful energy that defined Griffin Device.
