What Kind Of Leader are You Going to be Today?

I talked to a father once who was in his mid 60s. His life was in shambles.

Roommates with his wife, no relationship with his children, personal health and finances destroyed.

He was shut down, negative, no energy and said his 19 year old son was already drifting away and taking on all of his attributes.

He also said his own father was the same way. He was angry, judgmental, toxic, and overly emotional.

This is a generational cycle of emotional destruction.

Even at 64 years old his father's burden had at its claws in this man destroying his life. It was doing the same to his son. Except his son was crumbling decades earlier not even 20 years old.

This is the power you have as a father.

You have the power to create a heaven for your family or hell.

You can complacently go to sleep, let your discipline slide, let your body and habits go, let your relationship with your wife drift away and take your entire family with you like a captain abandoning ship.

Or you can decide that your family is worth more to you than your fear and excuses.

All the procrastination, doubt, and depression you've been using as an excuse for inaction is not as important as your family getting the man they deserve.

You can be the captain that leads his family to safety or you can be the one that sees the iceberg coming, downs another bottle of liquor and takes them all into the depths with him.

What kind of leader are you going to be today?
