The Delhi Police have arrested three people, including the live-in partner of UPSC aspirant Ramkesh Meena, in connection with his gruesome death in Gandhi Vihar earlier this month.

The victim, 32-year-old Ramkesh Meena, was found charred inside his flat on October 6, after a fire was reported to police. Upon investigation, the case turned out to be a planned murder disguised as an accident.

According to investigators, 21-year-old Amrita Chauhan, a B.Sc. Forensic Science graduate, murdered Meena with the help of her ex-boyfriend Sumit Kashyap and his friend Sandeep Kumar—all residents of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Police said Amrita and Ramkesh had been in a live-in relationship since May 2025, but tensions grew after she accused him of keeping pornographic videos of her and refusing to delete them. Enraged, she confided in her ex-boyfriend, and together they hatched a plan to kill Meena.

On the night of October 5–6, CCTV footage captured two masked men entering Meena’s building. Roughly 40 minutes later, one man was seen leaving, followed by Amrita and another man at 2:57 AM. Moments later, the fire broke out.

Investigators allege that the trio first strangled Meena, then doused his body with oil, ghee, and alcohol before setting it on fire using an open LPG cylinder. The suspects fled with Meena’s laptop, hard disk, and other items.

Police later recovered the stolen items, including the hard disk and mobile phones, and arrested Amrita on October 18 after a week-long manhunt.
