For many, Jesus calming the storm has been taught as an encouragement to stay calm and assured in the midst of troubles (storms) as Jesus is always at hand to remove the difficult circumstances. Is this a correct reading and understanding of the passage? What is actually being taught here, and how should Christians properly face the troubles in life that are bound to follow?
