Bob Geldof was asked if he'd run to be President of Ireland and said no—not because he's unqualified, but because he's too busy. Which is either brutally honest or a polite way of saying "I'd rather not, thanks." Fair play to him for not pretending he's got time to run a country while doing whatever else he's up to.

But here's the thing: if someone admits they don't have time to lead a nation, what does that say about the people who do take the job and still squeeze in Arsenal matches and charity dinners? Maybe Geldof's the only honest one here.
