Diddy Nearly Killed After Waking Up With A "Knife To His Throat" At Brooklyn's Metropolitan Jail

Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly survived a frightening attack in his prison cell when another inmate held a homemade knife to his throat while he slept.
Diddy’s close friend Charlucci Finney said the rapper “woke up with a knife to his throat,” though it’s unclear whether he fought off the attacker or guards intervened. Finney believes the assault was more of a warning than a murder attempt. “If this guy wanted to hurt him, Sean would’ve been dead,” he said. “It was likely a message — ‘next time you won’t be so lucky.’ But intimidation won’t work on Sean. He’s from Harlem.”
The incident follows earlier warnings from Diddy’s lawyers that he faces sexual assault risks and poor conditions at the Brooklyn jail where he’s being held. His team has asked Judge Arun Subramanian to transfer him to the lower-security FCI Fort Dix facility in New Jersey, where he could access drug rehab and family visits.
Diddy has been behind bars since September 2024 after being convicted of transporting individuals for prostitution. He was cleared of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges. During his trial, another inmate allegedly tried to reach him with a shiv to gain “prestige” for targeting a celebrity.
Finney said he’s been losing sleep over Diddy’s safety, noting that inmates often attack those with sexual-related charges. “They see it like it could’ve been their sister or daughter,” he said.
He admitted Diddy made mistakes but blamed his downfall on drugs. “The jury saw it wasn’t trafficking — just a man and his girlfriend doing their thing,” Finney added.
Diddy’s lawyers have filed an appeal to overturn his conviction.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported that former President Donald Trump was considering commuting his sentence — a claim the White House denied. Trump later told Newsmax he got along with Diddy in the past but said, “Would I deny him a pardon? I would say so.”
