Recently unsealed court filings show that Wade Robson and James Safechuck are pursuing an enormous $400 million in damages from Michael Jackson’s estate.
The disclosure surfaced after John Branca and John McClain — the executors of Jackson’s estate — filed a motion last week responding to a request from Jackson’s daughter, Paris. She asked the court to allow only partial payments until invoices receive formal approval, as well as documentation of legal fees paid to outside firms between 2019 and 2023.
Paris alleged that a “tight-knit” circle of attorneys had been “skimming money from the Estate in plain view.”
Branca and McClain countered that halting or limiting payments to these firms would trigger “profoundly destabilizing consequences” for the estate. They warned that Paris’s proposals could create a damaging ripple effect, particularly in the massive lawsuit filed by Robson and Safechuck.
According to the documents, a payment freeze could lead the estate to default at a critical point, with numerous depositions, discovery proceedings, and other legal steps scheduled in the coming months. The $400 million figure sought by Robson and Safechuck — aimed at Jackson’s companies MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures — had not been publicly disclosed until now.
