Thousands of people in Peru have marched against the government,
defying a 30-day state of emergency imposed Wednesday intended to tackle a wave of violent crime and extortion.
Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of interim President Jose Jeri, after a protestor was killed 10 days ago.
They are also demanding justice for more than 50 protestors killed in the last 3 years,
during the government of recently ousted president Dina Boluarte.

Al Jazeera’s Mariana Sanchez reports from Lima, Peru.
