Kim Strassel: Dems Rationale for the Shutdown Is the Obamacare Enrollment, Which Begins November 1st

STRASSEL: “Things are going to finally start hitting, Paul. The other thing to bear in mind and I have not heard Democrats address this is November 1 begins open enrollment on ObamaCare. The entire stated Rationale of this shutdown from Democrat perspective is you wouldn’t negotiate with us but we want to extend these enhanced subsidies for ObamaCare and it needs to happen before ObamaCare enrollment begins. Well, November 1 the enrollment process begins at than that Rationale goes away. That could also be a moment maybe Democrats will say look, we drew attention to this. Now we’ve got to move on the pain between that and maybe you begin to see a backlash among the public but right now nothing is moving anything.”
