Tonight, we’re cracking open the decaying vaults of 1980s horror royalty with George A. Romero’s grim, gory, and glorious masterpiece — DAY OF THE DEAD (1985). 💀

This ain’t your daddy’s zombie flick — this is humanity on life support, holed up underground, arguing over who gets to play god while the dead outside argue over who gets to eat your spleen first. It’s got military maniacs, mad scientists, philosophical corpses, and enough practical gore to make a butcher cry.

Fun facts while we prep the bunker:
🧠 Romero originally wanted an epic zombie war film, but budget cuts forced him underground — literally.
💀 Bub, the “smart zombie,” was played by Sherman Howard, who gave one of the most oddly touching performances in horror history.

🔪 And yes — all that blood and guts? That’s mostly pig intestines. They kept them in a fridge that broke mid-shoot… so yeah, the cast really earned those gag reflexes.

So lock and load, people — this isn’t a drill. It’s 1985, the dead have taken over, and we’re about to watch civilization circle the drain in glorious VHS color.
