Wreckreation was recorded on a Steam Deck and is a high-octane mix of arcade racing, creative freedom, and explosive fun. Set in a huge open world, players can design and modify on the fly — teaming up with Friends to lay down roads, ramps, loops, and obstacles anywhere they please. Whether you’re forgetting to blink as you race at top speed, laughing out loud as you crash through chaos, or living your best life competing with friends in crazy custom challenges, Wreckreation transforms open world driving into a wild blend of creativity, destruction, and fun. From the creators behind Burnout and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Wreckreation provides over-the-top crashes, huge jumps, and the thrill of creative control — all with seamless multiplayer and real-time collaborative world editing. Wreckreation is clearly a spiritual successor to Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Wreckreation will launch on October 28, 2025 on Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5), Microsoft Xbox Series S and Series X and PC (Steam). Wreckreation was created by Three Fields Entertainment in the UK. Three Fields Entertainment was founded in 2014 by veteran game-makers who had previously created hit racing titles such as Burnout Paradise and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit at Electronic Arts. Their previous titles include Dangerous Driving (2019), Danger Zone and Danger Zone 2 (2017 and 2018 respectively). The Wreckreation team comprises ten staff members, working mostly remotely around the UK.

In Wreckreation, the player is placed on an island with their first car and the freedom to roam anywhere. Event start points are placed around the world, so as the player explores the highways and back roads they discover new challenges. Winning events rewards the player with points that go towards earning a better Wreckreation driving license, and as new licenses are awarded, new player cars and gameplay features are unlocked. As the player proves their skill and unlocks new licenses, the skill of the AI opponent drivers increases so mastering newer, faster cars is a skill that is essential to progress.

A player’s boosting potential is shown in their Boost Bar, at the bottom of the screen. The bigger the Boost Bar, the longer the player can drive at insane speeds. The player can increase the length of their Boost Bar in chunks, by particularly skilful driving or by scoring Takedowns on their opponents. If they push their luck too far and crash, their Boost Bar is reduced in size.
