The Church Giving Trick

The Church Giving Trick. It becomes a necessity for any growing church or body of Believers to raise money or Fund Raise. However, over the years (as this is not a recent practice), the church has used questionable tactics to raise large amounts of money. Generally, the church used, what I call, pressure and prestige to force people to give enough to meet the need. Pressure and Prestige occurs when churches or ministries have members standing up to verbally announce the amount of money they are giving before the whole congregation. This, in turn, shows-off people's financial status, creating the pressure to impress, or be shamed, if members don't measure up. However, in addition to this tactic, nowadays, modern churches use the "promised blessing" tactic in order to trick people. They trick people into believing that God will supernaturally get them out of debt or give this a large amount of money for sacrificially giving to this "seed-faith" offering.

I strongly believe their are times when God speaks to a people to give sacrificially, and He blesses them supernaturally. However, in some modern churches this is a tactic is used at each major offering to raise money. It does work for a while, until there is a down-turn in the economy, then, you hear these same type of churches begging people to give enough to make up for their short-falls. If their doctrine of seed-faith giving were true, the great faith of the Leadership should be sufficient to cause large amounts of money to come in, regardless of what the outside economy is doing. This message addresses these tactics, directly, in the hope that it will open people's eyes and cause many in the church to be more honest with their offerings. Yes, they honestly need a lot of money to function for the people, but not at the expense of telling the truth.
