Integrating new birds to our flock.

We recently added new chickens and ducks to our flock. In this video, I'm discussing my process for successfully introducing new chickens and ducks to my existing flock. I explain why you must keep your new birds completely separated for a period, allowing you time to observe them closely for any signs of illness or disease before they come into contact with your healthy established birds. Then we move on to the social introduction! I'll discuss how to use a physical barrier to allow both the old and new flocks to see each other without having access to each other. This visual acclimatization is essential for minimizing stress and significantly reducing fighting when the time comes for them to finally free-range together. Patience is key for a peaceful, happy, and healthy flock expansion!
