Welcome to Adventure #16!
Today we’re exploring Gold Butte National Monument — a remote, rocky stretch of desert south of Mesquite, Nevada.
We’ll hit three incredible stops: Whitney Pocket, Little Finland, and the Seven Keyholes Slot Canyon.
📍 Trail Route & Locations:
• Whitney Pocket – sandstone pockets, caves, wind-carved hollows, zero crowds
• Little Finland – crazy red rock “fins”, desert palms, feels like another planet
• Seven Keyholes Slot Canyon – upside-down keyhole shapes carved by wind, water & time
🛻 Trail Conditions:
• High-clearance & 4x4 highly recommended
• Road is rough, broken pavement → sandy trails → rocky wash crossings
• No services: no gas, no water, no cell – bring it or do without
