An impoverished young samurai in feudal-era Japan divorces his wife and moves away to take a desperately-needed job offer. Years later, he realises his mistake and returns to his hometown to beg her forgiveness. But as the old saying goes, 'You can never go home again'. 'The Reconciliation' is a classic ghost story from Lafcadio Hearn (aka Yakumo Koizumi), one of history's most notable Japanologists.
