Three suitcase-size lunar rovers are on their way to the Moon as part of NASA’s CADRE mission — Cooperative Autonomous Distributed Robotic Exploration. The goal: prove that a team of robots can explore, share data, and make decisions on their own without commands from Earth.

Built at JPL and now heading to Intuitive Machines’ Nova-C lander, the rovers will ride aboard the IM-3 lunar mission to the Reiner Gamma region in early 2026. CADRE will help shape the future of autonomous robotic exploration on the Moon and beyond. 🌌
