BIG CHANGES WITH NFA AOW'S

It's been a while since we have discussed AOW's so I thought it might be a good idea to have that chat again. It's important to know the difference between an AOW and an SBR or SBS. With the new Revolver Knives coming out from Melegun, Inc.combined with the new legislative changes going into effect soon, I thought it was a great time to talk about all these things at the same time.

On to the legal changes........

For the first time in my lifetime there are some HUGE changes going on at the BATF NFA Branch that are extremely helpful to us. Starting January of 2026, there will no longer be a transfer tax on Sound Suppressors, Short Barreled Shotguns (SBS), Short Barreled Rifles (SBR) or Any Other Weapons (AOW). Because of legislation included in the "Big Beautiful Bill" we no longer have to pay those Manufacturing taxes or Transfer taxes. Due to the success of the E-Filing system, people are reporting transfer and manufacturing approval times of less than a week, often the next day.

To potentially help even more, there are a few lawsuits filed that, if successful, would remove these categories from NFA control all together, but it will take some time to see how those are ruled on.
