Soul & Spirit – What's the Difference? Edgar Cayce

The Human Being is Body, Soul and Spirit.

The Body is the Temporary garment. It is the vessel in which the soul experiences material life.

The Spirit is the Spark of God. Pure, perfect, unchangeable and the soul acts as the bridge between them, the link that connects divine consciousness with the human experience.

The soul carries both the memory of God and the scars of time.

Edgar Cayce says that the Soul and Spirit are not the same. One of them carries the eternal spark of god, while the other holds the story of every life you’ve ever lived.

Spirit is the divine essence that can never be corrupted.

The Spirit never sins, never fears and never dies. It is the image of the creator within you.

The soul is shaped by free will and can either reflect that light or hide from it.

The Soul is the traveler. It learns, fails, grows and carries the record of all your choices across lifetimes.

When the soul forgets its divine origin it becomes restless, anxious and lost in material illusions.

When the soul remembers that the Spirit of God lives within, everything changes, life becomes a classroom instead of a battlefield. Suffering becomes a lesson instead of punishment.

It is the confusion between spirit and soul which is what keeps humanity asleep. We worship the outer but forget the inner.

The eternal spirit within is constantly whispering to us, waiting for us to listen.

Jesus Christ was the perfect example of what it meant to live as a soul, fully surrendered to the spirit.

Christ’s life showed that the divine and human can coexist in harmony when love governs the will.

The Spirit of Christ is available in every human soul.

We don’t need to seek God from books, religion or in church, we can find God from within.

The Kingdom of God is Within You. This is what Jesus said also.

Edgar Cayce:

• The key distinction is that the spirit is the universal life force, while the soul is the individualized, developing self.

• The spirit connects you to the divine, but the soul is the aspect of your being that evolves through physical life experiences, holding your hopes, fears, and memories.

According to Edgar Cayce :

• Spirit is the divine, transcendent, and eternal essence that desires union with God.

• The Spirit is the divine spark of God within us, pure and eternal

• The Soul is the part that inhabits the material world, experiences life through a physical body, and is concerned with earthly mysteries and spiritual growth.

• Spirit is the pure consciousness from God.

• The soul is the traveler—the record of every thought, emotion, and choice across lifetimes.

• The Soul is a portion of that spirit which has become individualized, taking in the consciousness of creation and progressing through many incarnations on Earth.

Spirit

• Divine origin: The purest and most transcendent part of human existence, originating from God.

• Motivation: Seeks only to be in union with the divine, beyond earthly concerns.
• Nature: Transcendent and beyond full human comprehension.

Soul

• Earthly experience:
That which gives life to the physical body and is the seat of consciousness, emotion, and personality during a lifetime.
• Nature:  An individualized portion of spirit that has separated from the unified divine consciousness to explore creation.
• Journey:  It is the soul that reincarnates, progressing through various lifetimes to learn and evolve, ultimately aiming to return to its divine source.
• Motivation:  Explores the mysteries of the material world and experiences life through incarnations.
