In this follow-up to the DIY Mushroom Grow Totes from Scratch | Hobby Setup with Andreas from Satya Therapeutics video, Andreas Met from SatyaTherapeutics.com dives deeper into the fine details of preparing mushroom grow totes — sharing real-world tips, rookie mistakes, and lessons learned from years of hands-on cultivation.

Andreas walks through the process, from handling inoculated grain bags and preparing liners, to managing contamination risks and experimenting with casing layers. This isn’t a sterile lab demo — it’s a transparent, experience-based look at what really happens during home or small-batch cultivation, including how to adapt, troubleshoot, and develop your own workflow.

The intention of this video is to show the average person how to set up a grow tote using inoculated grain bags and CVG substrate. Andreas recommends novice growers to start simple: buy sterilized grain bags and CVG bags online.

In the future Andreas will create other videos showing how to inoculate grain using liquid culture syringes, a very easy process. Then—assuming people want to get deeper into the hobby--Andreas will cover simple grain preparation and sterilization techniques.
