Build the World Land-Bridge, End the Threat of Thermonuclear War!

A hopeful, powerful display of ideas which could bridge the two largest nuclear powers—Russia and the United States—was broadcast yesterday in an extraordinary two-hour session hosted by Executive Intelligence Review, titled, “The Bering Strait Tunnel Project Can Open a New Era of Peace Through Development,” keynoted by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and followed by a high-level panel of engineers, rail experts, and economists. Among the participants was Azer Mamedov, the First Deputy CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which is headed by CEO Kirill Dmitriev, Putin’s special envoy for investment and economic cooperation.

Just two days prior to U.S. President Donald Trump reaching out to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Oct. 16, where he suggested the idea of a Budapest Peace Summit, Russian Ambassador Alexander Darchiev had delivered a letter from Putin to U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) for delivery to Trump. The ambassador had also provided more than 380 pages of Russian material on the JFK assassination, which had included a hand-drawn map of the “Kennedy-Khrushchev World Peace Bridge,” linking Russia and the U.S. via the Bering Sea. This was noted by Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev, who had shared the picture on his X account, and proposed that the bridge be built today.

It was Lyndon LaRouche who suggested that the corridor be built in 1978, and campaigned vigorously in the subsequent years for the economic development of Eurasia, which would be linked to Africa, Europe, North America, and South America, in an intercontinental world-wide rail system. Not just rail, but development corridors would be built along the spines of the system, supporting the establishment of new towns, cities, factories, and agricultural centers which would completely transform the global economy.

The British Empire, its russophobic NATO allies, and anglophilic intelligence networks within the U.S. are all determined to stop this from happening. The normalization of U.S.-Russian relations, which began on Aug. 15 with the meeting between President Trump and President Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, cannot be allowed to improve in a follow-up summit in Budapest, in the minds of the British.

This is the moment where we can intervene, with the exciting force of beautiful ideas and a 50+ year vision for how the world would look, if big projects such as the Bering Strait Tunnel were implemented. Since the start of the 2022 escalation of war between NATO and Russia in Ukraine, it has been the position of the LaRouche Organization that “peace through development” is the only way to durably end the threat of thermonuclear war, and proceed towards peace.
