Patel Announces Massive FBI Bust: “NBA Gambling Ring Linked to La Cosa Nostra Crime Families”

New York, October 23, 2025 — In a dramatic news conference held in Manhattan, Special Counsel Kash Patel announced what he called “a historic arrest across a wide-sweeping criminal enterprise that envelops both the NBA and La Cosa Nostra.”

Standing alongside FBI, NYPD, and Homeland Security officials, Patel revealed that former and current NBA players and coaches — including Chauncey Billups, Damon Jones, and Terry Rozier — were arrested in connection to a sprawling sports-rigging and illegal gambling operation that has allegedly run for years.

Patel said the charges range from wire fraud, money laundering, and extortion to robbery and illegal gambling, emphasizing that the scale of the crimes involved tens of millions of dollars.

“This FBI will leave no room for any perpetrator of crime across this country,” he declared. “We’re here to defend the homeland, crush violent crime, and ensure our entertainment industry remains fair and secure.”

He concluded by praising the interagency cooperation that made the arrests possible: “It takes a team to bring this kind of sweeping justice into the halls of America’s courtrooms. The fraud is mind-boggling, but today justice prevailed.”
