Episode 49 – John Adams: Defender of independence

Welcome to Our Republic.

John Adams. The man who never shut up, never backed down, and never stopped reminding you how right he was. He wasn’t tall and stoic like Washington. He wasn’t smooth and elegant like Jefferson. And he sure wasn’t charming like Franklin. Adams was short, round, cranky, and had the subtlety of a cannon blast.

But when the colonies needed someone to fight — really fight — for independence, Adams was the guy. He defended British soldiers in court just to prove America believed in justice, then turned around and became the fiercest voice pushing for revolution. He was brilliant, obnoxious, indispensable — the bulldog who sank his teeth into independence and refused to let go.
